tldr; DO NOT BUY A LITTER BOX FROM MEOWANT. Unless you’re rich and don’t care if you have to throw it out without a refund, I guess. I was naive back in April when I purchased my meowant— it came up as an instagram ad on sale for only ~$250, I read some of the reviews on their website + amazon and a single post on here comparing it to a litter robot (which I could absolutely not afford anyway) and decided that the benefits outweighed the risks. I’m not even the owner of these bloody cats (that I love dearly, they’re seriously so fricken cute). We ordered this system to try and make my lady’s life easier, which it did, for a month. So, I bought the Meowant SC02 two weeks ago due to the new years sale. I initially had my eye on the litter robot, but could not justify spending the money on it without knowing if my cats would use it. For reference, I live in a 700 sqft apt, have three cats (10, 7, 1), and previously only had space for two litter boxes. I really wanted this litter box to work, but my experience has been frustrating. The biggest issue is the design. Even with regular cleaning, urine began collecting beneath internal components, creating a persistent odor that’s very difficult to remove. It eventually started leaking onto my floor as well. For something meant to improve hygiene, it ended up being harder to keep clean than a regular litter box. Customer service hasn’t been great either. We recently got this litter box on a whim (before looking at reviews of the brand). I see lots of concerning reviews. So far I have not had any issues, though it’s only been 2 weeks. I’m posting to see if anyone has any problems with it. So I know what to keep an eye out for. So far we have really loved it. We have 2 boys that are bigger cats this is very roomy.
